Itinerary of the Ilam Village Tour

Day 1
Drive or Fly to Urlabari

You exit Kathmandu valley in Dhulikhel, you go down to Sun Koshi River corridor until reach Khurkot, drive and cross the mountain and reach a plain area in Bardibas. Drive through Terai, crossing the Nepal biggest bridge in Koshi and you reach Urlabari. Another option is fly to Biratnagar from Kathmandu, 40 minute and drive one hour to Urlabari and stay in the Home Stay Village.

Day 2
From Home Stay in Urlabari to Dungdunge in Ilam

Your adventure begins as you cross the clean Mai Khola River which starts from the bottom of the mountain. The small town there provides you with supplies like water, biscuits and potato chips, because you won’t find the shop afterwards for two days. You have to cross a river 12 times to reach the small village of Dungdunge which is surrounded by Jungle and River. If the river is over flooded then you have the option to trek through the thick mountain forest and hills. You will camp in Dungdunge at the top of the river in a tent or in a hammock. You will have the burn fire at the night in the winter.

Day 3
From Dungdunge to beautiful town of Ilam

You will have to cross the river a couple of times before you get into the Mountain Taxi. You will enjoy the ride since it crosses many rivers, mountains, villages, valleys, jungles, and tea garden. When you reach Ilam, check into the hotel and rest.

Day 4
Ilam to Kanyam and Urlabari

Sightseeing around Ilam and Kanyam and driving to Home Stay Village in Urlabari. There is one more place in Shri Antu or in Sandakpur, if you desire to stay one more night there to view first Sunrise in Nepal then you will have to add one more day in your itinerary.

Day 5
Urlabari to Kathmandu

Drive back to Kathmandu by Toyota Hiace, via BP Raj Marga in Sindhuli and reach Kathmandu later afternoon, check into a hotel or Home Stay in Koteshwor. You can stop on the BP highway to take photographs or break. Your package ends after the tea refreshment.
